Yet another H∞ discretization

چکیده
A new approach to the conversion of the sampled-data H problem to an equivalent pure discrete-time, lumped-variables counterpart, is presented. The approach is independent of controller causality constraints. In particular, it is applicable to problems, such as preview tracking and fixed-lag smoothing, where existing reduction methods fail. We demonstrate this by solving Open Problem no. 51 from (Blondel et al., 1999).

On Fully Discrete Schemes for the Fermi Pencil-beam Equation
We consider a Fermi pencil beam model in two space dimensions (x; y), where x is aligned with the beam's penetration direction and y together with the scaled angular variable z, correspond to a bounded symmetric , transversal cross section. We study some fully discrete numerical schemes using the standard Galerkin and streamline diiusion nite element methods for discretization of the transversa...
متن کاملYet Another Application of the Theory of ODE in the Theory of Vector Fields
In this paper we are supposed to define the θ−vector field on the n−surface S and then investigate about the existence and uniqueness of its integral curves by the Theory of Ordinary Differential Equations. Then thesubject is followed through some examples.
متن کاملPreconditioning and Boundary Conditions
Consider the large systems of linear equations A h u h = f h which arise from the discretization of a second-order elliptic boundary value problem. Consider also the preconditioned systems (i) Bh − 1 A h u h = Bh 1 f h; and (ii) A h Bh 1 v h = f h , u h = Bh 1 v h where B h is itself a matrix which arises from the discretization of another elliptic operator. We discuss the effect of boundary co...
متن کاملA New Family of Mixed Finite Elements for Elasticity
In this thesis, we introduce a new finite element method to discretize the equations of elasticity. It is analyzed thoroughly both in the infinite-dimensional and in the discrete setting, where finite element schemes of arbitrary order are presented. As the main result of this work, we prove that the new method is locking-free with respect to volume and shear locking, i.e that it is applicable ...
متن کاملHue Bands and Human Perception: Revisiting the Rainbow
The visualization literature tells us that rainbow color maps are bad, yet domain experts continue to use them. Why? The truth is, we don’t know. It turns out that there is a lot we don’t know about rainbow color maps. Two of the primary reasons our community argues that rainbow color maps are ineffective can be traced back to the idea that rainbow color maps implicitly discretize the encoded d...
